Denver Flood Cleanup (720) 961-2205

Front Range storm season

Storm and hail damage.

Denver sits in one of the most active hail corridors in the country. The damage that reaches your ceiling usually started weeks earlier, on the roof, during a storm you'd stopped thinking about.

How storms put water inside

Two different trades, again

A roofer repairs the roof. We handle everything the water touched inside — the attic insulation, the ceiling, the wall cavities and the flooring. Both usually go on the same claim, and we work alongside roofers constantly.

What to do while it's still raining

  1. Contain what you can safely.Buckets under active drips, plastic sheeting over furniture. Don't climb onto a wet roof — ever.
  2. Relieve a bulging ceiling from a safe distance.Trapped water is heavy and comes down all at once. Move everything out from underneath and let us do it, or pierce it from the side of a doorway with a bucket ready.
  3. Photograph it, including the storm date.Carriers connect roof claims to specific storm events, so note the date and keep any local storm reports.

Why the attic matters most

Not sure how far it went? A free inspection maps it before anything gets opened. Roof leaks land in insulation first. Wet blown-in insulation compacts, stops insulating, holds moisture against the framing, and is completely invisible from inside the house. On any storm-related leak we check the attic — it's where a small ceiling stain turns out to be a much larger wet area.

Common questions

How do I know if hail damaged my roof?

Often you can't from the ground, which is the problem. Signs include granules collecting at downspout outlets, dented gutters, soft or bruised spots on shingles, and dinged vents or flashing. A roofer can inspect properly — and if water is already inside, call us at the same time.

Is storm damage covered by insurance?

Wind and hail damage to the roof, and the resulting interior water damage, are typically covered by homeowners policies, often with a separate wind/hail deductible in Colorado. Surface flooding from rising ground water is a different peril and generally needs flood insurance.

How long do I have to file a hail claim?

Colorado policies commonly set a filing window measured from the date of loss, and it's frequently one year — but terms vary, so check your policy and file promptly. Damage found late is harder to tie to a specific storm.
